Athens Hills Hike
If you'd like to visit the most impressive viewpoints in the Greek capital, you'll love our Athens Hills Hike! We'll admire the best views of the city from places like Mount Lycabettus and the Hill of the Nymphs.
Athens Hills Hike
At the scheduled time, we'll meet on Aristippou Street so we can start exploring Athens in a unique and interesting way. Let's start exploring its hills!
During our tour, we'll combine short trips on public buses with walking routes. The walk will take around 3 hours in total.
First of all, we'll come to Mount Lycabettus. At 908 feet (277 metres) tall, it's the highest peak in the capital. We'll hike up to the summit and, if it's a clear day, look out at Aegina Island. As we gaze at the views we'll tell you all about this hill's links with Greek mythology and, in particular, the Goddess of Wisdom, Athena.
Afterwards, we'll stroll through the historic centre of Athens and admire some of its most iconic monuments. These will include the Parthenon, Hadrian's Arch, the Odeon of Herodes Atticus and the Temple of Olympian Zeus.
Next, we'll make our way up to Aeropagus, which is also known as the Hill of Ares. This hill, which is dedicated to the God of War, was the seat of the Council of Nobles and the Judicial Court in classical times. We'll tell you about its history while admiring the views from this area of the Agora.
The final part of our hike will be spent exploring the Hill of the Nymphs, which is located southwest of the Acropolis. Despite being one of the most unknown viewpoints in Athens, its views will leave you speechless.
Having spent 4 hours exploring the Athens Hills, our hike will come to an end at the starting point.
